flash (macromedia): Hello folks,

Using Flash MX i would assign a short .wav file to a keyframe in a movie clip.
That movie clip is a child of a child on the timeline. When the movie jumps
to a labeled frame on the main timeline, the event sound of the movie clip
plays. Very surprising. I ended up placing the event sound (repeatedly) on
the main timeline.

I intended to search the forum, but searching is currently down on the forums.
Any general thoughts on event sounds that play when they shouldn't?

The one thing that comes in mind is that you meet the Flash known MovieClip/Sound bug
If the sound is placed on first frame of movie clip it might misfire or misfire
multiple times - this bug has been around for few years.

SOlution is to place it on frame 2 or 3 of a movie clip .

Hey, just curious did this solve the problem?

I have a movie clip put on the timeline that has sound and it doesn't sync up live on the net. but syncs up testing it.

Hello,

The problem I had was consistent from inside of Flash to the web - it was as
Urami said - do not put sync sounds in the first frame of a movie clip.

For your problem, I'd suggest making sure that the sound is set to be stream
and not event based. If the sound file is large, then you may be having some
preload problems. Just some thoughts to consider.
