flash (macromedia) : StudioMX (Not 2004) + a whole heap of Q.

pwpaust;
Although some products were patched during their lifespan, if memory
serves, only a "player" patch was released for flashmx/win. Patches released
for the last two versions of all MM software are still available on the MM
site (in MM's flash support, there is a previous versions link at the bottom
of the updaters download page). The technotes at MM flash support cover
known issues for previous versions (the bitmap shift bug is covered if that
is what you are describing). -Tom Unger

Hi,

When I search the Macro WS for information about updates to StudioMX all I get
is information about 2004 information and no the original version, which is so
annoying.

Can anyone tell me where there is a section for that? eg patches and stuff,
because dream weaver keeps crashing and flash 6 bugs eg crimp in some images
(yes its in PNG 24 that i import the image from) it only decides to export non
crimped images when it likes..

Also what about XHTML? when will macromedia flash be XHTML strict compliant
(its more of the detection process that I am looking for)

sys spec:
3ghz cpu
2gb Ram
360 GB HDD

Thank you for the reply

do i use the actionscript

root._alpha = 99.8%;

in my first frame?

It is really crap that you pay for a product (at an expensive price) and
macromedia dont fix that bug.
It has really made me angry about that, cause its there job to fix problems in
their programs and they dont, talk about a skuff on their reputation.

By 'crimp' in some images do you mean the bug where in the middle of an
image a column of pixels is missing?

If that's what you meant, there's nothing that will fix that. You need
to work around it. Set the _alpha for your clip to 99.8%. That's it!

There were no updates for previous versions of Macromedia software.

I put up the "crimp"

http://www.abyss.ws/king.aspx

excuse its lack of xhtml compliancy.

it is most visible in the "O"(lower section of the letter)

Wow I didn't think it was that bad with the software patchs...looks like they
are making MS look good when it comes to support :) lol

I have thought of upgrading but I have actually held off until ASP.NET 2 is
released and then MM puts out the next version of studio to handle ASP.NET2

what i find funny is thou that

if you type in

http://www.abyss.ws/king.swf

and just get the swf there is no crimp.....but with the code there is :(

since its the exact same file...i find that odd...

If that was the bug you were talking about, then it doesn't matter where
you put that line as long as it appears before you display the image.

However, I assumed you were talking about loading an image into an
actionscript movieclip, whereas you're obviously talking about an image
you've placed on the timeline. Therefore, I don't think this will help
and I'm still not sure what you meant by 'crimp'.

I know. They were terrible like that. It was years ago that they
released a one off fix for Dreamweaver.

After the disasterous release of Flash MX 2004 there was a huge outcry
from the community. Macromedia have now begun releasing fixes for the
first time, but that doesn't help you if you're using a previous
version. Thought about upgrading.
