flash (macromedia) : I need to hide txt files in a CDROM

Hello,

I am creating a Projector to be distributed in a CD ROM. I need to have
external files, text files, music, flash movies, that eventually will be loaded
into my main movie.

But I would like to hide those files from the user of the CDROM, at least the
editable ones (text)

Or is there a way to make the CD ROM not available to be copied?

Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks
D

You can not hide .txt files on a CDROM, all you can do is nest them within
folders and hope the user doesn't go looking.

But I would like to hide those files from the user of the CDROM, at least the
editable ones (text)

You need a brush up on the term CDROM = Compact Disc Read Only Memory, ie. any
file on the CD will be "read-only" and NOT editable.

There's not really a way eventually, but you could of course rename the
extension to something unknown like .pip Flash doesn't care about
file-extensions anyway. Just make sure that in your flash movie you're
loading file.pip and not file.txt ;-)

Hi Dyango,

Yes there is one way you can do this.

You can add these files inside the actual projector file itself.
When the projector file has been executed it will uncompress itself to the
Windows/Temp directory.

Once the projector file has been closed it will automatically delete itself.

Making your files hidden from the user and tamper proof.

You can do this by using Jugglor and the Additional File section. Add your
files in there.

If you still want to access files on the CD-ROM then use the LOCAL% command

Jugglor v2 Help -> Advanced Techniques -> Using LOCAL%

You can download an evaluation copy from

http://www.jugglor.com

Have fun.
