Simple question.

Is there a way to scroll a layer with built in UI Components in Flash pro ?

If not why is this Flash Pro version so limited in component functionality?
Or they are really pain to set up. I think this flash professional is nowhere
near to be user friendly. And really, really buggy.

I am able to make layers scroll with components that I purcased from
flashloaded.com . They work great ! I just want to see if flash has ability to
use scrollBar on other things exept textbox similar to flashloaded component.

And also want to take advantage of Halo theme.

THANKS for reply!

Actually this was my second post on this message board. The first one never
got answered, I thought the question was too long :) But it was more detailed.
Here it is:

I am trying to set up a slide presentation that is half hour long.
1 step cd playback and then web post.

I did manage to set up scrolling table of contence with links to synchronize
slides and "talking head" but there it is a problem again (where you least
expect it) . TOC has 20 entries to seek to cue's(to external flv file's
specific time) which are called slide1, slide20 etc. I have 20 slides in the
left pane that also called slide1/slide20.
Everything works and syncs nicely when I click on TOC entry that goes in
order: slide1, slide2 etc., but when I try to go backwords lets say from slide
19 that is currenly playing to slide 2, video starts from the point where its
specified but instead of slide 2 it shows slide 3. In other words it shows one
slide ahead.
Also when I click the link that seeks to slide 1 the screen is showing slide 2
when video starts correctly. When you go forward again everything syncs again

I dont have a clue if it is a bug or how to overcome this. May be add
additional behavious to show respective slide. But at least how many times I
tried to do that it does not work.

I am starting to get impression that flash projects are less/more "trial and
error". Or whatever you make it work.

I guess the good thing is that there are always a few ways of how you can
acomplish the task or find a way to change things around without using things
that you cant make to work.
The BAD thing that sometimes it takes enormous amounts of hours you have to
sit in front of the screen trying to figure out how one small function works.

Talking about different approach. I started with slide show templete or rather
blank preset. But next time I will try to do everything old style way - setting
up slides in frames and try to implement seek to labeled frame behavior, may be
this way the navigation will show correct slide?

I am using the latest updates UIcomponents etc Fash 7.02. Pro
One obvious bug on (win2000) is "undo" that acts weird. Sometimes it gets
stuck and does not rewind and goes back and forth. Today I crashed Flash by
trying to back up in history that brought it to infinate loop....

no , there is no way because layers can't be control at all.
If you want to control individual layer than copy all the content from layer to movie clip
and than control the clip , this is the only way.

Well , true is macromedia components are very easy to set up , maybe the new upgrade 7.2
would help you , there is way more documentation than first installation and more materials
in that regard. To comment on Buggy , yes they are but to be honest , w/o insulting you , seriously,
I don't think you had a chance to experience any yet. They become buggy with complex projects ,
the stuff keep coming out when you start mixing many of them and use for something pretty big.
You ask if you can scroll layer so i'm positive you on the stage in flash where you could not
possibly get to a bug yet .
Overall many of us do not use Macromedia components, we do our own , at least we know what is that
we did and where something can go wrong and how to fix it .

Sorry , I won't be much of help , tho I really wanted .
I'm using MX not MX 2004 and I don't use macromedia components due
to number of flaws , I do custom one based on project needs.
Not compatible with you , sorry .
