forum fan;
I'm not aware of a way to get flash to open the images as named, however
re-naming need not be a chore. There are several file renaming utilities
available including some freeware and shareware. One example is "A.F.5
Rename your files" (win only) which can be found at:

Hi,

I'm working on a project that involves taking a series of digital still
photos, then importing them into macromedia flash to make a time lapse 'movie'.

From my limited understanding, I've established that going File >Import and
selecting an image prompts Flash to recognise a sequence and import all the
sequential images.
My files are all named according to date eg 20040715, 20040720, 20040804 etc
but since photos aren't taken every day, the file names aren't continuous.
Currently I'm renaming all my files (eg. 1,2,3,4 etc) so that they are
recognised as a sequence.

So my question is - can i get Flash to recognise a non-continuous sequence of
images, so I don't have to do a time consuming renaming process? Or is there
another method I can use to import.

Any help/thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need to rename the files.

Open Flash, create a New Document. click File> Import (Ctrl + R) then
select the images you want through Explorer.

If all the files reside in one folder just do Alt + A (Select All)!

Up to flashmx at least, importing as you describe places all the imports
in a single frame, while importing a numeric sequence places the imports in
sequential frames. -Tom Unger
