I was wondering if anyone has yet to figure out the problem with swf's running
on IE 6 SP1. I have tried my files on two different computers (with different
OS's XP and 98SE) with IE6 (Flash Player 7) and get the same results (i.e. the
preloader does not play and the file takes longer than usual to download). It
is not the version of Flash Player...I have tried the same files on IE 5 (OS
ME) with Flash Player 7 and they work as designed. I have also tried them on
Netscape 7 (my preffered browser, OS 98SE) with Flash Player 6 and they also
work as designed. I see that others have experienced similar problems with IE
6, and some people have suggested that it is a problem with the flash player,
but it seems from my experiences it is a browser problem...the swf's are Flash
6 btw. If anyone has found any other information on this problem it would be
greatly appreciated.

Sorry Ed , won't be of much help , just like to say that I have been using
IE 6 SP1 extensively , literally no less than 5 hours day , on daily bases and it has never
fail to work with flash. We run flash right now on about 14 computers in the office
and none has reported that problem.
I use flash 6 and 7 in the same time. Author in 6 , preview in 6 and 7 .
Majority of the users here run IE 6 at the moment and myself visit this forum on daily bases,
rally see anyone reporting something like that.
I would look into the OS or the browser. I had some weird behaviors once after updating window
from the Microsoft update page but it has effected not just flash, other OS parts as well.
It was ok after next upgrade. Perhaps try to upgrade the win OS than remove entirely the player ,
just trash the whole MACROME folder in system directory and install clean all over .

Looks like I have confused people a little....its not that the files don't play
at all they just don't stream in properly, that is to say they load completely
before they begin to play any part....I have your standard preloader in scene 1
and the main movie in scene 2. I have tried it on win98SE, XP, and ME...on
three different computers....the only combination that seems to do this is IE6
SP1 with Flash player 7 installed (on the win98SE and XP)...could there be a
problem with my flash coding?
