Hi,
I just started working with flash. All I want to do is have a picture as my
background and a layer of a colored box in front of it. and have the picture
appear in segments as the mouse rolls over that certain segment of the picture.

I have a timeline set up where a giant black box fades to alpha 0 and then
back to alpha 100. The problem is with the action. I wanted to have an action
on(rollover){ gotoAndPlay(1);} but when i do this i get an error that says i
can only use "on" actions with butttons.

Even if i do all of the above, making the black box a graphic, button or a
movie clip, i still get this error.

If anyone can think of any easier way to do what i am trying to do, I am open
to any suggestions. I know this is simple, but i can't find any help in the
tutorials for this. Thanks for any help you can give.
