flash (macromedia) : MX upgrade bug? "Stop" not working

Hi,
I'm having a weird problem that may be related to the MX upgrade (or not) -
someone please let me know if I'm crazy or if someone else has experienced this.

I have a movie clip in an swf file, and when I test the swf file, all of the
new "Stop" commands I have put in the movie clip don't seem to work. The weird
part is that SOME of the stops work, but not others.

For example, my movie clip has 3 sections with a stop command that should stop
the playhead from going into the next section. For some reason the first stop
gets ignored and the clip plays on, but when it reaches the next stop it does
indeed halt.

Am I missing something? I admit it's been a while since I worked in this file,
but this seems like basic stuff that's not working.

They are all coded the same:

stop();

Thanks for your help,

- Kent

I found the problem - it wasn't Flash or the upgrade - it was that when this
swf file loaded I had created an invisible movie clip that carried out a bunch
of reset-type actions when it is executed.

So the movie clip would have stopped at the Stop(), but this other movie was
telling it to jump elsewhere immediately.

Thanks anyway!
