I've been asked to provide a flash animation that willl play automatically in
an email.

I have created the animation, but how do I get it to play automatically when
you open your email? All I end up with is your normal attachment.

Can anyone help me please.

Cheers

Dave

embed it into an html page and send the html page as email. if the user doesn't
have flash enabled, though, they won't see anything. if the animation isn't too
complicated, i'd recommend using fireworks to make an animated .gif file that
will show in all the emails.

an .swf file will always send as an attachment, though...not much you can do
about that

Thanks christoff. Sounds like the way to go.

Just one other question - how do you embed the swf in an html file?

make your flash file and publish it...by default, it creates an html file to go
with your swf file. put the swf file on your host, change the link to the swf
file in the html file to point to the new location of the swf file on the
host, and email the html file. that should work, but i'm not gonna say i'm 100%
right since i've never emailed flash to anyone before. give it a try though and
see if it works.
