I've heard that is one of the best-document bugs in Flash, every version.
Supposedly, they fixed it in MX.

I'm fairly new at this but I have been playing around and found that even
though the movie looks fine when viewing in Flash itself, when I export it and
play the exported version back there is a line of distortion running down the
pictures.
I have qualities set to high and jpeg quality set to 100. I have tried various
picture formats but nothing has changed it!
Any ideas anyone?

it actually happens right down the very centre line of the picture if that helps for any ideas

This is a bug that has been there since Flash 4 (maybe earlier) .. MM has
still not fixed it.

There are a number of things one can do to work around the bug. However, MM
changed things between Flash MX and Flash MX 2004 and the fixes for one
don't work for the other.

I'm not sure what is involved now, but if you tell us what Flash you have
(Flash 5, Flash MX , Flash MX 2004 etc) then someone here who knows the
appropriate technique may be able to help you further

For shame Jeckyl! Surely you know this is one of Flash's valued
*features*...

Set the alpha to 99%, or scale to 99.6%...
