Hi all,
I am new to flash but am enjoying playing with it so far. I have hit a snag
though, I can create a simple movie ok, it runs when i click on the swf but
when I embed it in a html p age and dump it on the server all i get is the
background color.
Driving me nuts. The server is running apache2 on gentoo, but I also wound up
my old NT4 server to try it on that and had the same problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Simon,

Here are few things you can look for.
- Did you upload the swf file to the server. Try pulling up the swf directly
in your browser: http://www.domain.com/mySwf.swf
- Make sure the path calling the swf is listed in the html page correctly.
- Check the tags at the top of the html page. Although I do not recall
exactly, I've had to remove the tag referring to XML and the page then worked
fine.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

even if I go straight for the swf I still get a white page. it shows that it is a shockwave flash, but no display.
