flash (macromedia) : Continuous Counter Help?

:confused;

I have a client that needs a "counter" on his site. Not the normal counter
(hits / visitors). He has a product that he is selling 1 every couple of
seconds.

Soooo....
he wants a banner (Flash) that shows that number going up from 10,000,000 and
adding 1 every couple of seconds.

I want this to be continuous though, off-line like a clock.

For example...
Lets say a user goes to the site and the counter is at "10,000,102 sold!" And
then logs off and shuts off his machine for the night. The next day, when the
user checks the counter, I want it to be higher (whatever that # it should be
is).

I am probably making this more confusing than it is, but I need some help.

Help Me? Anyone know of a FLA somewhere I can download?

You could use flash's own cookie system, and record the number that was
last displayed on the banner and the date at which it was viewed (using
the get date function) - then simply work out an average number of
downloads per day, and how many days have passed since the user was
last there. I think that this woudl work.

Well, it's kind of hard to keep record on something while the system is off.
Why not just make ordinary counter, server site and set up increment on say 73
each time the user visit. Than use cookies to track it. With uneven number
it will look more realistic.
