Bitmaps and frames bug? xzander

flash (macromedia):
I just came across a strange bug working on a project an I managed to isolate
it:

I imported a single jpg bitmap onto the root timeline on stage and rotated it
10 degrees. When I export the bitmaps looks sharp, however if add one or more
frames to my movie my bitmaps become jagged in the edges and not at all as
smooth. Strange, I dont see why the number of frames should effect the bitmaps.
(quality was set to high) Ideas? Works in the same way in flash 8 as in MX 2004
and png as jpgs. Doesnt matter if the bitmap is in a clip that has more frames,
leaving to root timeline with one either.

I dont get it. Anyone seen this before?

Yeup .. lots of people. It's a Flash 'feature' that doesn't help anyone
anymore .. it auto-lowers quality from what you set it when there is more
than one frame.

You need to set quality to BEST either in the html code and/or by setting
_quality="BEST" at the start of your movie.
