I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Flash is a plug-in for
mozilla browsers. Not a program, not an extension. This is fairly
common knowledge, at least in the Flash community.

You can remove it if you like. Just go to
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/ and read the uninstall
technotes.

That said, Flash Player does check for updates to itself. But you can
turn that off if it bugs you:

Interesting. Not sure if you meant by extensions plugins. Just to be sure.

In FireFox I clicked Tools->Options

Then I clicked Downloads

Then I clicked Plug-Ins...

And that is where Flash and others are listed.

Also I remember way back when Flash 6.0 player was delivered with Windows
XP.

I wonder how many of you people know that Flash communicates online without
your knowledge? I checked my browser extensions in Firefox--Flash is not
listed. I checked "Add or Remove Programs"--Flash is not listed. I checked
my
firewall software--Flash is not listed. Flash checked for an update. It
must
have done this in the process space of the browser even though it is not
listed
as an extension.

Flash is nothing more than spyware in my opinion. I want this damn thing
removed now! NEVER will I use Flash again because of this and I will
encourage
the world to not use Flash.

You have no right to hide your integration with my browser, Macromedia!!!
You
have no right to circumvent my firewall protections so you can communicated
who-knows-what with who-knows-who!!! You have no right to hide the settings
for this program or hide it from the browser extensions list or Add/Remove
programs.

You've made a huge enemy, Macromedia.
