flash (macromedia): Hi,

I work in the web team for a multi-national company. It appears our SOE
environment (XP SP1) has problems with Flash Shared Objects with browsers
using Flash Player plugin 8 (tested thus far with IE6 & Firefox 1.0x)

On accessing the Global Settings Storage Panel (found at
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_man
ager03.html
), I am unable to increase the size of the allowable storage for local Shared
Objects or tick the checkbox to allow third-party storage of flash content. Any
changes made are not saved.

I'm not an SOE guy, but would anyone have any ideas what could be causing this
problem?? Can Flash Shared Objects be controlled on a network/domain level and
not just at a local level ?? My internal enquires haven't had any success. The
SOE guys aren't necessarily Flash savvy.

Our users use Macromedia Breeze and have been having problems entering online
meetings. The screen hangs when they try and enter a room. I suspect the 2
problems are related.

Cheers - Jamie

First I've heard of the settings manager problem.

Jamie, you should open a support incident on this one. And if you're a
multi-national find out who your Macromedia sales rep is and get them
involved.
