flash (macromedia):
Hi -

I'm having a bit of trouble with 'text'. First the text was created in
Illustrator CS2, then converted the text into outlines. Using the cropping
tool, the page size was determined to match the movie size. I then exported as
a .swf. In flash, I imported the .swf onto the stage and used the text (now
outlines), throughout my movie.

When i exported the movie, the top part of the text appears cut off. Please
see this movie

What is happening here and how do i make it go away?

Thanks!

Having a hard time understanding the problem. Your link doesn't work.
Illustrator has no cropping tool. Do you mean Photoshop?

Does the text appear cut off on the Flash Stage or just when you publish to a
..swf?

you are correct. Illustrator does not have a 'cropping tool'. I meant I cropped
using crop marks. Sorry for that confusion. The link is
http://www.inviasolutions.com/index.php (if this does not work, please paste
this url into your browser as it is the correct link the forum linking tool
wasn't working propoerly).

Once you can see the movie, please look at the text in motion. The top tips of
the words are cut off. it's very slight, but there. It is fine while in Flash,
but happens on publish. As it's vector art work, I was wondering if anyone knew
of a way to eliminate this.

So, i made the text in illustrator vCS2, converted it to outlines. made crop
marks around it to size it to the movie. exported it as a .swf file. In flash
mx2004 i imported the .swf file onto the stage. animated it. published and
there the tips are cut off. I am on the MAC platform.

any insight would be helpful.

okay - this is it. Text from any other source just does not work as well as
text generated in flash. This problem has been resolved by making my type in
flash. I take this as a bug in flash though. I have designers handing me files
created in illustrator. flash should work with these seamlessly. In this case
it is not too big a deal, but sometimes this could be a deal breaker
