you can't edit. flash has no such options.
you need to make the video elsewhere and once ready, import to flash
for playback.

I did not explain very well... sorry.. What I mean is:

The video we see at the begining of this site has been definetly edited: not
the video itself, but to make it into a banner: THERE is my question: how to
build the banner from a video using Flash...

You edit your video in some tool, Premiere or whatever is your prefer program
than all you need to do is import it to flash.
Flash player support video within swf files. You can as well import the video and
use flash Encoder to convert it into FLV (flash video file) than load it in
flash dynamically.
Flash 8 - File - Import - Import Video
Regardless what you see, the video was fully done outside flash and it is only
imported for playback. Flash has no control when comes to video, only run its frames.

Flash 8 introduce support of Alpha channel so now we have more fun being able importing
video w/o background. Before the background had to be set up and placed in Premiere
than imported to flash to make the match, now it's much easiest to fit in.
But, take note, don't go to crazy when comes to video, it's a CPU killer, even for the latest
machines, that is why even on macromedia site the footages are limited to very tiny chunks
of data, the player will simply choke...

If I misunderstood you again , please forgive :)
