Best way to save locally? mikeaturner25

flash (macromedia):
Hi all,

Quick question here for ya. What would be the best way to save vars locally? I
am going to be creating a program that will be a standalone player. The options
that I know of are using the "save" fscommand or using local shared vars to
store. Both ways are not very appealing though. Online I can send vars to a php
file that will then save the info in a database. Is there anyway with a
standalone player to work with a database?

Anyway any advice you could give or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

[quoted text, click to view]

Well, SAVE does not exists for many years now, it was undocumented
feature that macromedia has never supported and it was killed off in the next
player release. ShareObject is the only way that left.
There is nothing else when comes to flash.
Only 3rd party tools like Jsave from http://www.flashjester.com
