Are you importing into Flash?

I am using Illustrator CS and Flash 8,when i try to open an illustrator file in
flash it tells me to save it as an illustrator 8 file and i have no idea what
that would be. I tried saving the file in all formats that where possible.
thanks for any help

To save an Illustrator 8 file from CS, choose File > Export > Illustrator
Legacy and choose Illustrator 8 format from the drop down menu in the export
dialog. You should definitely be importing your Illustrator files into Flash,
not opening them.
