You should be able to open any fla saved form an older version of flash.
You mention having flashmx or mxpro, but I believe there was only one
version of flashmx (version 6). Since the "pro" option was introduced in
flashmx 2004 (version 7), I suspect you have flashmx 2004. If you have not
done so, you can download the flash 8 which should allow you to open any
fla.

Hi, another person helped me finish off a flash file that was started in flash
mx 2004. He completed it and sent it me back, I now can't open it neither in mx
pro nor mx. If anyone has an older version could they please check it to see
which version it needs, I can't get in touch with the person to ask which
version he has. If it will work on your machine could you please convert it to
a file that will work in mx or mx pro. Its very important, my life very nearly
depends on it.
