flash (macromedia):
Hi,

I am working on a site that allows people to upload SWF files so they can show
off their Flash work. I'm currently testing it with SWFs that have sound and
links/redirects to other sites (which I wouldn't want to appear as part of the
final Flash animation that's displayed for obvious reasons).

Is there any way to disable sounds and links in SWF files, for example by
using certain params in the HTML code? Note that I will not have access to the
original FLA files.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to flash @ allon
..com.

Thanks,

Allon

no you can't, you would need to original file to make the alterations.

In some cases you could load the file into level or movie clip, than use sound object
to control the entire file volume and simply reduce it to zero, than cover it with button
would kill any actions below that button that the movie could have but this can make'
the movie malfunction. Some are design to run alone and not from movie clip holders.
So, in general, still, you will need the source to assure the files are functional
and w/o all the stuff you try to get rid off.
