flash (macromedia): I have a simple button, but it doesn't behave like a button when I preview or
export. It acts just like a movie symbol. It plays the up, over, down and hit
just like they were regular frames. I think it's a software problem.

Perhaps it is movie clip not a button.
Upload the problematic file so we can see it to confirm it.
