I dont use Illustrator, I use CorelDRAW, but I have had issues also. I found
through experiementing that exporting from Corel with various settings, ie -
version exports that I can get excactly the outlines I need, in perfect
condition. Some other setting give me horendous results. If I recall,
transparencies, gradient fills and such things will not be imported, but you
can add those things once your have your vector imported. So try
experimenting with differnt export/import options regarding version number
and see if you can hit the right combo like I did.

Good luck, I understand your frustration from first hand experience!

haNNIBAL OPHIR;
The documentation for your version of flash (and fhd) should mention what
version ai file is supported for import/export. One would expect Adobe's
built in swf export would offer the best conversion of their format, but you
should be aware that many ai features added since version 7 are not really
vectors. While they are "vector editable" within ai, they are rasterized on
export to _any_ other format including eps (in freehand such features are
referred to as "raster effects"). -Tom Unger

I am trying to import some Illustrator artwork into Flash. I need to maintain
the transparency and also keep them as vector objects.

It was suggested on this forum that I save my artwork as .eps and then open
in Freehand. I have tried this but the artwork looks incredibly bad and
pixcilated. I have tried to export as flash file from Illustrator but it
always saves as an.swf file and I need to work with it as .fla. I have also
tried in Flash to import .eps but this does not work either.

There has to be a better way????

Any ideas??
