flash (macromedia): I was wondering if anyone knew how they animated a lot of the stuff on
http://www.drivethrurecords.com/theroomstoocold/movie.html. Like on the
preloader how it draws the lines and all throughout the opening how it's as if
the lines were being drawn by a pen or pencil. It's as if the object is already
there and it's being shown or something. I don't think it's a motion tween
cause tenchically nothing's moving (unless there's a mask moving out of the
way?) Someone told me it would have to be frame by frame drawing...but that
sounds like overkill to me. Any guesses?

Not really , it's in fact the easiest and fastest. Doing it animated with mask
would be real over kill.
Check :
http://flashfugitive.com/hand.swf
Take less than 5 minutes with frame by frame.

Simply draw full shape , add new frame F6 key and on new frame cut
little of it , add another frame and cut more of it , add another frame and cut more and so on
till you end up w/o anymore shape to cut. Than highlight all the frames and right click , from menu
pick Reverse Frames .
Now it will make impression like it draws itself.
Shape tween will take way more layers to do it but it's possible .
first you draw tiny dot , few frames away you draw full length line , make shape tween between them.
And you animate line by line manually .
