flash (macromedia): hi, i recently finished the 3D Text Rotation tutorial
(http://www.cbtcafe.com/flash/3dtext/3dtext.html) and made a button for the
middle object that the text goes around. Well i made the oject change colors on
the mouse over, down and hit, but i cant seem to make the mask change colors
with it (The mask is for the part where the text goes behind the object).
anyone have any suggestions on how to make the mask change colors along with
the button? is it possible to make a mask for the button and have it change
colors on the mouse over, down, and hit?

Not sure what you refer to considering masks are invisible and can't be apply with color,
need to see your button and based on what you did please point to the problematic part.
Take note in the same time that HIT is never visible to user so you don't need to worry about it.
It is only the area that define HOT SPOT for the mouse.
