:( I previously had the same version of Flash (MX) when I was working on my
animation and something went wrong with it. So I installed it again and now
whenever I wanted to reopen the animation I was working on with the reinstalled
Flash it says that there was an "unexpected file format." I don't understand.
Please help me.

To add a little more fuel to the fire. I am currently experiencing the same
problem with MX (v6), but trying to open a .fla file which is reported to be
version 4. I am now in the process of confirming the version, and getting
another copy of the .fla file incase of corruption.

I"m having the same problem. I created a file in Flash MX a few months ago, but
now can't open it. I downloaded the trial of MX2004 on another computer and it
won't open in that application either... i'm completely locked out of dozens of
hours of work.. has anyone had any luck rescuing their files?

I have also problems with Flash 5.0 and a fla file. Although this is made in
flash 5.0 I can not open it on this computer. I updated the player to 7.0 but
still have problems. Does this problem could be solved: has this something to
do with Windows xp?
