flash (macromedia) : Is There a significant Performance Difference Between Flash and Shockwave?

Okay, perhaps I'll rephrase my question - Is there a significant performance
difference between Shockwave apps created by Director and Flash apps created by
Flash MX? I do not see any information about performance comparability on this
website.

i think the info doesn't really exist because it's almost impossible to compare
the 2 programs/players.
They are both very different - and although certain aspects of them can
overlap a little - ultimately they both can be used in an infinite number of
ways. So given the endless possibilites of their use it's hard to compare them.

I did not hear about Shockwave studio. Any Shockwave is a Director and Flash is Flash, totally
different applications.
You can check on macromedia.com in Software section for details about the two.
Should give you some light.
