flash (macromedia):
Hi, I've got a situation where I need to be able to load a masked movieclip
from a list of hundreds of movieclips. The movieclips have a standard size for
the animated portion is consistent, but the masking movieclip names are not
consistently named, or not at all. So, the result is, because some clips
animated parts extend outside of the area made visible by the mask, the bounds,
and origin are different from what is being rendered and I have no way to get a
consistent 'handle' to position these loaded movieClips. Ideally, I'd hope
there would be some property or method to tell flash to use the rendered
area... to return the rendered area's top-left as 0,0 and the rendered area's
visible area as the _width and _height. Is there such a method? Any other
advice would be just as appreciated :).

A crazy and confusing thing, when handling one of the masked movieClips from
within the IDE, the IDE reports dimensions according to what is rendered, the
masked dimensions, not the dimensions that include things outside of the masked
area.
