I used to be able to make a photoshop file (layers), import that file into
fireworks, save as it as a .png (layers), then import that layered .png file
into flash.

now, when I select import in flash i am only given one option...importing a
library.

does anyone have any ideas what i should do?

The point being: I want to have all the layers of the photoshop file in flash,
so I can animate them.

thank you so much,
Hope

hope1;
I'm not sure if your having problems importing fw pngs or photoshop
files, but importing a Fireworks native png (not a flattened png), should
bring up a dialogue offering options such as "preserve layers", flatten and
preserve appearance or keep vectors editable etc... Photoshop file import is
probably dependent on having QT installed on the machine (check the flash
help). -Tom Unger

Dear Tom,

You are such a darling. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me...by
giving me all the details that the F import dialogue box should provide, plus
the other info you provided.

As you so rightly guessed. I am trying to import a native .png file from fw
into flash.

And as I am writing you, I realized that I had to FIRST open a 'new Flash
document', and then choose 'file/import' ...then I got the correct dialogue
box. It was thanks to your attention that this thought came to me, I am quite
sure.

Thank you so so much. I really appreciate your kindness and all the best to
you.

Sincerely,
hope1
