flash (macromedia): Yeah I noticed that as well. I had to import one from another project.
Not that big of a deal but yes, I agree, it was annoying. I don't
know why it was made that way.

I'm using MX7, and in the UI components there is a scrollpane but not the
scrollbar. I had to get this component via someone else's library. My
question is, has it been completed removed from MX7 or is it hiding somewhere?
I'd like to have it available to simply append on a text box for scrolling,
rather than having to create an entire scrollpane, and then load the text box
inside of that. Has this omission annoyed anyone else who's using the latest
version of flash?

Oh well. I've done some research on my own and it has in fact been left out of
the newest version of MX. So I guess you can get a scrollbar if and only if
you use a TextArea component and set the text as its property. Which, then,
makes the text tool pretty much obsolete. Also it looks like the Macromedia
site has an area where you can download a full set of UI components. Lets all
make a big stink about it so they bring back the scrollbar in the next go
around.

That is exactly right. The scrollbar was left out of V7.0 because the
scrollpane was significantly upgraded to deal better with text than its V6
counterpart. So many people missed it that is was brought back by popular
demand in V7.2. If you have V7, the upgrade to V7.2 is free.
