Here is a link to the working flash file;
-http://www.flash-mx.com/flash/progressbar.cfm to create this progress bar.
The method in the tutorial I used was the first one. The second one I also
tried, but doesn't seem to work at all.

If need be I can zip my flash files for someone to review. Any help at this
point is welcome. I have the working file hosted, but people complain it's not
loading simply because it doesn't pop up with anything immediately. Hence the
reason I'm really trying to get this progress bar working.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Another question - is there a better tutorial for the ProgressBar? If so can
someone link it?

This tutorial obviously has problems in it. Other post have been made about
how they can't get it working, but no one seems to be able to give an answer as
to why the tutorial doesn't work when followed correctly.

[quoted text, click to view]
another altnerative would be to use SWF, Lock & Load to create flash
preloaders.

I don't have an answer for you yet, I'm working on the same problem. I did
notice that the first time I clicked on your 'broken' link it went through the
whole progress bar to completion and then loaded a seemingly broken GUI. I
then closed that window, clicked the link again, it loaded very quickly (due to
caching) and then worked fine: audio, video, everything. Just to check, I
cleared the cache and tried again. Same behaviour as the first time. Don't
know if that provides any clues. If I figure anything out I will let you know.

check kirupa.com and search for preloaders. You will have a some good examples there.
