flash (macromedia):
When I test OFFLINE a page of my own that includes a Flash animation, IE executes it just fine. However, when I try to view ANY page with a Flash animation (including the Macromedia test page), I don't see anything. The status bar seems to show the page as forever loading but almost entirely loaded. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which didn't help (but then, as I say, it does play animations offline, so it's there). I checked the (custom) security settings, and Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins is enabled. Download signed plug-ins is enabled, unsigned ones set to prompt. Flash animations are viewable ok in my other browser, Mozilla. I run WinXP. Can't swear I'll find my way back here, so email welcome (jhaber at haberarts.com). Thanks a lot.
Thats because you cant save flash movies from webpages online unless you buy flash pro. Actually im thinking of quicktime pro for quicktime. Bit I dont think you can save flash files from online anyway unless people offer it to download.
Oops, I must have worded the question imprecisely. My apologies. I wasn't trying to save an animation to disk. I was just trying to view different pages (what, after all, Flash Player is for). So when I said the status bar indicated it was forever close to 99 percent downloaded, I should have said the page appeared always to be LOADING. I hope the problem is recognizable, though! Thanks all,
