Hi, Since I updated OS X to tiger, all flash audio is being output through my
USB headset, not my speakers (which is my default audio device). If I unplug
my headset I get no audio at all. This happens in both the flash player app
7.0.24 and the browser plugin.

Have tried reinstalling plugin & standalone player, but still the same

is there a way to delete the flash player preferences to see if this corrects the problem?

What about your other audio. Look in the system prefs drop down to see
how you sound it set. It not a screwed up pref file. I wouldn't trash
one of the flash prefs. You only had OSX.4 for a few days. Read up on
it. There so many new things.

Hi David,

This odd thing is that sounds works perfectlly for everything else (skype uses
headset & everything else uses the desktop speakers), it only seems to be flash
that has this problem, thats why I assumed it would a flash setting.

Also, have just created a new user to see whether this was only effecting my
current user, but the problem appears in a brand new user as well.

Cheers

Gaz...

This issue didn't come up when we tested Flash MX 2004 and Flash Player
7 with Tiger..

Haven't gotten my tiger OS yet so I'm not quite sure what
to advise. It has to be some system issue though. Flash just says "hey
OS, I've got some audio" and the OS handles the routing of the audio..

OK, after doing some more digging around, I found a few posts of various sites
that attributed odd audio misconfigurations in Tiger with the coreAudio update.
They all pretty much agreed that just opening GarageBand was enough to reset
these rogue settings, and guess what... IT WORKS!

I now have flash & streaming quicktime playing out of my desktop sepakers just
like it should.

Go figure......
