flash (macromedia) : Flash Video Exporter? QT PRO?

I'm stumped... were did you buy this video exporter? And it doesn't come
with QT Pro. And flv is one of the formats for video on the
Internet....do you mean best by quality or access able by everyone?

The new codec in Quicktime 7 "h-264" is by far the best in quality for
the Internet. DVD quality and full screen. And it doesn't tax cpu. You
do need board band and QT 7 (plug-in) for this codec to play on your
computer.

You could have gotten QT pro for 30 bucks and been happier...IMO...The
flv extension doesn't come with QTpro. It cames with Flash MX-2004
PRO...It's easier in Flash to put the flv in a web page, again IMO.

+ you all ready have Flash Pro...mmmm let think on this one,,,

Hey you didn't need the video kit at all... I was sleeping (not real
sleeping on the ball sleeping) here and it just popped in my head. you
can import video straight into flash make a FLV there. Use the media
component in flash to contain the flv...Publish the flash... you have
your html-swf-and flv....done

You can either use the html that is published or copy the code into a
page in Dreamweaver.

Or you could just export the flash. Embed the flash into Dreamweaver and
your done.

You didn't need the kit at all..................sorry

The kit was for people that don't have flash...really it's a snap in
flash to make a flv...I was taught in 5 minutes...And I think may make a
better flv than the kit...

I just purchased the Flash Video Exporter for $99, and now I hear that it
comes with QT Pro? which is only $30???? Why the great difference in price?
Did I get something more with the FVE?

I'm VERY confused. I want to have the capabilities of putting a video on my
webpage. So I "thought" I needed the Flash Video Exporter. And this does
"not" convert my videos to FLV, which I hear is the best format for video on
the web?

I presently am able to convert my videos to MPG4 (2 and 1), QT, Windows Media,
and other formats, but no FLV. I thought that is what the FVE extension is
for??

Also, it says when I install FVE 1.1 I first have to remove it before
installing version 1.2. Then the next sentence says I do not need to remove
FVE 1.0 installations before installing verison 1.2. So what IS it saying I
need to do?

I get a message: Severe - FLV Exporter has been detected on this computer.
Please uninstall FLV Exporter before continuing with the installation.

I installed the extension: MEdia Components, then tried to install the FVE.

What do I need to place a video on my website? And how well does one need to
know Flash before being able to do this. I had heard that this FVE was so easy
to do that you didn't even have to KNOW Flash to be able to use it?

So please clear up all my confusion. Thank you so much.

From Macromedia. It's called the Macromedia Video Kit and it came with the
extension called a video exporter. Yes, I know it doesn't come with QTPro, but
I read somewhere that QTPro comes with the video exporter extension? and QTPro
is only $30 opposed to $99 for the MacroVK.

I'm not looking for just a "player," but a method to put a video on a webpage
that would be easily accessed by everyone. And I keep hearing that is a FLV
extension and you can only do that with the Flash Video Kit or the video
exporter.

I'm so unfamiliar with ALL of this that Macromedia could tell me anything and
I'd probably believe it! :o) So I have no clue what I'm supposed to get to
make this happen.

Are you using Flash MX-2004-PRO...?

Also, I do have MX2004 Studio which supposedly is the Pro version, because I
had purchased the DW Studio Pro version; however, I'm not seeing that in my
Flash program to know if it is or is not. Okay, wait, looking on the box and
it says Macro FlashMX Professional 2004 - which was included when I bought
Studio, so I guess afterall I am on the Pro version.

It cames with Flash MX-2004
PRO...It's easier in Flash to put the flv in a web page, again IMO.

When I purchased Flash MXPro, I missed the offer of getting Flash Video Kit
with it. And Macro doesn't care if you spent $500 for the updates, if you miss
the offer time, that's it. You then have to purchase it for $99. Y'd think
they'd just always include it.

At any rate, I have it, so can't return it.

My video camera doesn't have the FLV files capability. I don't know how to
use flash.

I just now used their sample video file, a FLV, and very easily inserted that
file into a web page.

I just have to figure out how to convert a video file to FLV. They say use
"Sorensen Squeeze" which came with the FVK files; however, it says that it
requires "third-party tools" to be installed. I have no idea what they are
talking about.

Would you know?

When you say I can just import video into Flash and make a video there, well, I
know NOTHING about Flash, so that may be a major brick wall! :o) Thus I think
why they came up with this FVKit (for Flash dummies like me). And how
embarrassing is it when you can't even use the FVKit! LOL Sheesh

But I just have no clue what's going on. I was able to insert their FLV file
into DW webpg, no problem, but I need to know how I'm going to convert my files
MPG4, to FLV.

I saved a video file as an avi format. But I just tried to import/insert it into Flash, and Flash doesn't recognize the avi format.

Try saving it as a quicktime, and importing it that way. I just imported a
Quicktime with no problem. Course, that was the non-PRO version, but if its
little brother accepts Quicktimes, then so should PRO.

Well, I got it to work. I imported an MPG4 file, converted it to a flv or is it fla? and then got it on a web page. wooooooooohoooooooo.
