flash (macromedia) : newbie question- text extensions...

Hi,

If you can do basic tweened animations in Flash you can create quite a
few decent effects by hand. With MX2004 there's a function called
"Distribute to layers" that takes a broken apart text field and splits
it onto layers so you can have animations on individual letters.
There are many ways to create text effects with code but it may be too
time consuming to learn how to make them for the sake of this project.
However, I'd recommend looking at Flashkit and other such sites for
existing text effect modules to see if something exists already. Unless
you're looking for something really fancy I wouldn't spend the money.
However, if you do want really fancy text effects, Swish is probably the
best tool out there.

Regards,
Patrick

Hi

I am very new to flash.

I want to know how to create good presentations with text effects. There
seems to be a lot of extensions you can buy (and even some that are free) that
help one to do this.

Do I have to buy any of these (if so, which ones?) or is it easy to make
decent presentations (such as banners or intros) without them?

Many thanks.
