flash (macromedia): I'm about to lose my mind. Please help.

I have successfully used the XML connector with a ComboBox when everything is
on Scene 1, Frame 1. The problem is I have a site that does not allow me to
put this information on Scene1, Frame1.

My site is as follows: Scene 1 < movieclip1 < movieclip2 < movieclip3(this is
where I need to load the data)

The problem is the combo box and text area load without retrieving the data.
I have tried to move the XML connector from "movieclip3" to Scene1, Frame1 and
bind the combobox to it from there but still nothing?
