flash (macromedia) : Custom Media Components

I went thru all of the component and media component editing stuff that comes
in Flash but I am still running into trouble trying to do what I want.

Here's the deal. It should be very simple. All I want is for the MediaPlayback
component to have a black background. IE: when the swf is inserted into a black
web page, all that would be seen is the video and the controllers. As it is
now, the area surrounding the actual video and behind the controller is white.
This is great if I was putting into a white page, but as I said it is going on
a black BG.

For some reason when I try to edit and import the new version of the
MediaPlayback, it just says there was an error loading the component. I am
guessing that's being caused by me editing it wrong. So, two questions:

1) If I want the entire background of the component in question to be BLACK,
what piece(s) do I edit?
2) Are there any pre-made component libraries that already have this component
edited in this fashion? And if so, where can I find it?

In the mean time I will poke around in the extensions, etc and see what I can
find. Just thought I'd post this first since sometimes it takes a while to get
a response.

Thanks!

There is a discussion on LiveDocs about how to 'skin' components which my be of
