flash (macromedia): Can a Flash Movie control the Showing and Hiding of HTML layers that reside
inside the parent ASP page but outside the Flash Movie?

I have an SWF that fills-up about half of an ASP page. There is other content
on the ASP page - much of this content is in layers that I want to show and
hide as the SWF plays. Can an event in Flash show and hide these HTML layers?
How is this accomplished?

I think there is an option in publishing settings that allows you to either
make the movie transparent to whats behind it or make it totally opaque. The
option is in publishing HTML- window mode- transparent windowless or opaque
windowless . Thats basically it- you cannot choose which layers show thru and
which dont. Its either or. Unless there is the option somewhere else.
I hope thats what you were asking about.

When you know how to show and hide HTML div from JavaScript, all you
need to learn is how to execute JavaScript from a flash movie.

The Flash Help has information on that. Look for fscommand().

Hi Mike - I noticed you posted a query you had on showing and hiding layers in
an HTML page from Flash. Did you managed to solve it easily? I'm trying to do
this myself and as a novice to flash/html I am struggling. Any help would be
very much appreciated. Thanks. Nigel.
