Hello Alan
I believe the colors are way too sad for a child website.
Especially girls website. Some cartoon accents would be cool too like for instance
roll over with flowers growing or moving around, some funky smiles and sound FX ...
The file is definitely too large.
My guess is that you import really large images, you should scale them , compress them as much as
possible and reimport, the JPG pump unnecessary site to the page.
Also by the animation I guess you using default or really low FPS (frame per second)
Default one is 12, changing it to 31 would improve the smoothness.
Keep in mind tho, FPS is not accelerator, it's a speed limiter to prevent movies from running
too fast. If computer has no available resource, it won't meet the set up FPS no matter what
so setting it too high might not make difference even worst, it might reduce performance
trying to take as much resource possible to keep up with the setting. 31 is a save number and
smoother than 12.
For the image gallery, I would suggest something dynamic. Small thumbnail preview in scroll
and larger image load on click only. This will reduce the file size at least 70 % , making it much
faster to load. I don't mind to assist you with that. I done fair share of these and have pretty
large resource available in here.
Again, the colors is something really does not suit suck cute kid.
This is something I would imagine little Lady site would looks like :
http://www.nesteaice.com/index.jsp or
http://www.joshuaink.com/ I would also add some footage and voice, even simple small video done with digital camera, walking
across screen or dancing. Might sound corny but after all it is just little and cheerful girl :)
Give it some smile not the grave kind of colors :)
