flash (macromedia):
I imported a video file into a movie clip and placed the movie clip onto the
stage. It's a rotating object which keeps looping. If I make a .swf without
doing anything else, it looks great. If I resize the movie clip on the stage,
all the edges of the rotating object get jagged. Any thoughts why this happens
and how it could be avoided (besides not resizing the movie clip because I want
to animate the size and position).

I found your post about using the action script

_quality="BEST"

It didn't seem to solve my problem. I saw the other user was loading an
external .swf and I am playing and embedded .flv. Should it work for my case
also? If this is the solution, I don't understand why the movie clip looks
perfect if it is not resized (bigger or smaller). Should I try a different
approach?

I'm sorry. My bad. I missed the part about FLV.

So is it the contents of the FLV that get jaggy or is it some vector artwork
that you have drawn around it that gets the jaggies? Can you provide a link?

I think it may be an issue with Sorenson Squeeze, which is what I am using to
create the FLV. The video has been exported from After Effects and it looks
fine, but if I view a single frame in Squeeze the edges are jagged. I have both
the Image Smoothing and Image Scalability turned on, but final FLV still has
the same problem. Anyone know how to deal with aliasing in Sorenson Spark Pro?

I'm using Squeeze version 4.0. I just checked a video clip I had made. I'm
starting off with DV video and creating a 10 fps, 300 x 200 video. I scaled the
whole thing 129 percent and rotated it 5 and 12 degrees. I also added a one
degree of rotation every frame. I didn't see any untoward jaggyness. The
tiniest bit, but it still looked quite like a nice crisp rectangle of video.

I'm fairly certain I didn't use Smoothing and Image Scalability. So perhaps
you want to try it with that off? I also have a fairly high keyframe rate. That
is for other reasons, but you never know it might have something to do with it.

So without being able to see exactly what it is that you are facing I don't
think I can provide much more help.
