flash (macromedia): I want to extract an MC from an .fla and use it as the foundation of
another .fla. The reason I want to do this is I added a text type in to
the mc and I want to convert the video to an flv via quicktime without
the loader and other such items that are in the root.

thanks,

Create a new fla. Open both libraries and copy the movie clip from one
to the other.

Perfect, thanks a bunch. Sorry about the unclear explanation, I tend to
over explain. At least I didn't go King James. ;)

stillwaiting;
Can't follow the "reason portion of your question, but you can use "open
as library" to bring in movie clips from other fla files, or open both fla
and copy/paste. -Tom Unger
