Use global variables. Global Variables will stay around even if you
load/unload different swfs.

I'm not very experienced yet with actionscript so hopefully you'll get a
confirmation/clarification on this, but perhaps check out what a global
variable is. I believe I read about this in the Moock book (which you
*need* if you don't have already!).
