flash (macromedia) : Flash Crashing - Working impossible!

Sounds like a computer problem unless there is a common problem among
all the previously working backups. I had a problem once when I
upgraded my computer and used OEM ram modules. It worked.. sometimes
and then crashed intermittently when I opened larger files. I took
the ram modules back and got name brand (Corsair) ram modules and no
problem since then. You could run a ram tester if you suspect this
problem.

I don't use the famously buggy MX2004. MX 6 only. Lots of people
still today reporting corrupted files that won't open again. I hated
2004 when I tried it. Stalling, crashing, hour glass waiting for
every little thing. Phooey.. I can't deal with that. We are all
waiting with great hope on version 8.

Well that was it I suppose:

After using Flash since V.3, writing books on Flash 5 and Flash MX (Yes I'm an
author) and teaching Flash to about 200 Students... - I finally got to the
point of no return...

Flash MX Pro (on Win XP Pro, Pent M 1,7GHz , 1 GB Ram) crashes without warning
and completely unpredictable. 98 Megs are not too much of a file-size, working
with Video didn't crash very often (though sometimes). All my files are
crashing (and I got over 10 back-ups!).

Tomorrow is a presentation for my client and I cannot continue working on
Flash that way. Really angry about that!
Just hope for the new version to be more stable and mainly fix the crashing
issues!!!

I will try the .fla-files on another computer and will post any changes or
troubleshooting - in this forum - sadly - nothing helped.
Macromedia doesn't have any solution I suppose...they just keep on launching
new buggy version of the once so brilliant app!

They can be glad, that Flash has no concurrent product! I would buy it
instantly!

Confused and helpless. J.

Well, there is always Swish, and others.

Flash MX Pro? There was only one version of MX, it was in MX 2004 that they
split into two subversions: professional and basic. And Flash MX has never
given me any problems, and largely is considered a success. MX'2004 is the
beast I suspect you are referring to, which many people purposely did not
upgrade to(myself included), and we can only hope Flash 8 will be more stable.
