gotchabebe; In addition to the information others have provided, you might use the movie explorer panel to search just the text in the movie. -Tom Unger
I am using MX 2004. I edited a .fla file, and typed my text over their text. The text box is a movie clip, and at the end of the loop it shows the original text.....I really need to get rid of the old text. Please someone help me as I am a brand new Flash user. Your time is so very very much appreciated!! gotchabebe
scottPadgett answered your question with: Sounds like maybe you changed the text in one keyframe, but that the old text is still unchanged in a keyframe at the end of the timeline somewhere... You need to make sure that you change every instance of text throughout the entire timeline. If there is still one keyframe anywhere along the timeline that still contains the old text it will play when the playhead gets to that keyframe. Try dragging the playhead along the timeline manually, and when you see the old text pop up stop and edit it in that keyframe. You've already posted this question and gotten the correct answer. With the information you have provided in your post, it's very hard for someone to solve your problem or offer more than one solution. I think you need to learn how flash works and how flash movies are laid out before you are able to understand the reponses that the forum members give you. The only thing I could add to scott's post would be... You say the textbox is a movieclip, double click on the movieclip to look at it's timeline [movieclips have their own timelines], and then look at the frames on that timeline to see if the 'original' text is still there anywhere, and then delete it. Cheers, FlashTastic
Hi Being New to Flash, I wasn't aware of the Movie Explorer. I just went into the panel and step through it and found all the text traces, and changed them to the correct text. Thank You Thank You Thank YOU......I have spent countless hours trying to fix this. You are too kind!! Bev....aka gotchabebe
