It's been a few years since I used Flash but I've never had this issue before.
I motion tweened some (Flash) type, which looks good. However, after I publish
the type gets pretty pixilated. What can I do so the type keeps its integrity
after being published?

Could be the type is set to Dynamic instead of static or the quality global setting is set to low...
If it has to be dynamic than try to add font outlines, it will smooth that out.
