flash (macromedia):
I've been fighting fuzzy type for 2 years now on buttons especially. They are static text, perfectly on even coordinates, anti alias off (the sharper way). Certainly others must know the final answer on this by now? Please Flash 7 Every button is made the same way; sometimes they are fine, other times not. Today not: http://www.stevez.biz/foto_fun/fotofun.htm Why is this typing box so tiny, can only see 2 lines at a time.

There is no such option as "anti alias off" in flash when comes to export. This is only for authoring time preference of VIEW, not publish setting. The buttons are clearly due to uneven coordinates. It does not matter that the text is placed on even cords, the button that holds it has to be too. -- Best Regards Urami -- <urami> If you want to mail me - DO NOT LAUGH AT MY ADDRESS

every button is exactly on an even coordinate according to the property inspector Now what?
Finally now I get it. You have to set xy perfect coordinates TWICE. Once when you make the buttons very own type, AND then when you place the button itself. and doing one without the other alters the other without you knowing it. Plus I thought i was doing this from the start, but I see when you try to place the button it alters the inside type, and VV . grr what a tedious little mess.
OK I did the same fix on this page and nothing, cuz both places were on integral coordinates ALREADY! Now what?
The buttons free of the nav bar movie clip, or the buttons as they appear IN the nav bar movie clip? I dont know how to get the movie clip out of the fla to stand alone. Buttons too, how do I get them out of the library? Create a new fla with just those items in it?
I decompilied your swf and checked it out real quick. You didn't tell the whole truth - tisk tisk. The movieclip holding all of the buttons on the main timeline has this X location value:401.4 Make it 401.0 and see if your text clears up. Also, I don't know what version you are using but you have your text set to "anti-alias for animation". I use "anti-alias for readability" when the text isn't moving.
That's might genereous of you Nickles. But Aha! Here at home I made that fix yesterday and still had fuzzy type, so i did not post any fixes. However I am puzzled where you get 401.4? In my property inspector, it only gives the xy numbers of the upper left corner, not the center point of the movie clip, even tho you can roughly see where that center point is, but not to the decimal. So what folks are saying now, is there are THREE places where you have to get your coordinates perfect: the initial typing of the button, the button placement, and then the movie clip! Which I am saying has failed in this recent example. No one ever told us THAT in class! And where do you reset that anti alias thing you mentioned? (flash 7)
That's great but I have flash 7. I'm puzzled why 90% of my site is ok, but I can t fix this item after doing all the things that fixed the other item. Plus, Verdana is the face I used. What about that coordinates thing? Thanks a bunch, above the call of duty'!
I make pages and the type is fuzzy. I zero all coordinates and the type is fuzzy. I have the same coordinates on different pages, but one type is fuzzy and another is not. I break apart the type which helps some times, and then different pages turn fuzzy. Flash 7. Been carping about this for years. Others must be able to present professional sites to the world. I dont have "alias for readability". Please, No wise cracks about spending all that upgrade money for just this one feature. Sites have been successfully made prior to flash 8. Anyone? flash 7
