swf nav bar suddely fails in Explorer

Why would suddenly my movie nav bar on the web stop working in internet
explorer mac OS X, but OK in OS 9. Also, the movie nav bar works ok in FireFox
and Safari. Does this have anything to do withg that "security" thing? If so,

I have Macromedia Flash Player 8 shown in WinXP Control Paner-Installed
Programmes.
However when I try to run an swf file it asks which application to use to

I've been looking for a tutorial that will let me animate swirls in flash just
as they would be hand drawn. I've seen similar effect on many websites and on
TV channels like The Food Network and TCM.
Does anyone know how to get this done?

I am fairly new to flash and am trying to create a popup page with flash. Where
user will move mouseover and page will appear and stay. I am trying to create a
button on the page that allows user to close it. Please help me find online

What do I add to flash so that I get a count down while it is loading? I'm
using Flash MX, and my current flash files take about 30 seconds to load, and
the screen is blank during that time, is it easy to add a count down so people
don't leave my site before the film loads?

I just tried playing with Flash 8 basic. All I want to do is create a 3 photo
slideshow. Simple enough? No! I've tried dragging images onto the time line.
Tried dragging the width of the area the image is to show. In can't change

Is it possible to get the URL from a text file and load that into the

Im using the Window component to load an external swf. Two problems, one the
swf doesnt stay inside the window, (is this only for movie clips within the
