flash (macromedia) : Thinking backwards: how to get flash to show exactly where in movie a file is being used

There must be a better way of getting flash to show how files are linked to the
movie - but i havnt found it. I am looking for a way to once "select all the
files that arent used" - to have a way of saying "ok, so the ones that are
being used, where exactly are they used?"

is there a way?

No there is not.
Some content is not directly on the timeline and even tho might appear as not used
it could be a linkage library asses for some component or future use.
Flash does not take the liberty to determine these things.
It can only show library items which have not been used on timeline but that's not
always accurate and often it shows more than it should.

As long as users do not request some of the features, Adobe/Macromedia
won't consider implementing it, so try your luck at the "feature request/ bug report"
www.adobe.com/go/wish

Who knows you might have it with the next release.
