Compressing a flash file?

flash (macromedia): Beth - as I mentioned already in your other thread - the SWF format is already a compressed format -
it's like JPG or GIF to a PSD file.
You probably need to re-build the movie in a very different way - it is a common mistake to place
all assets inside one huge SWF - you should try loading as many assets in externally at runtime -
see the help docs for loadMovie or go to:

www.kirupa.com
www.gotoandlearn.com
www.lynda.com

or google
IS this the SWF that has no FLA? You were the one who lost the FLA right? You will need to find a
3rd party program that extracts the contents of an SWF and makes either a FLA from what it can grab
or at least provides a way for you to import the extracted assets. Either way - if your SWF is that
large, the only way to get it smaller is to re-think the way you built it in the first place.

Compressing a flash file? befh

Hi,

I have a flash animation I made whilst in university in flash mx 2004. I wish
now to export it and put it in my dreamweaver website, However the flash file
is huge 3.7 mb and I wish to make it smaller... How do I compress the movie to
make it smaller... I do not mind about losing quality as it is alot larger in
size than it will be on my website,

Any help would be much appreciated,

Beth
