flash (macromedia):
You can't import .swf into FCP. And FCP doesn't support a Flash inside a
Quicktime. Sorry. Only video files can be imported into FPC. And not all
video formats are supported. You'll have to some how make the flash a
video file. Maybe when you have the .swf in a Qt you can do an export
to a file format that FCP understands.... There again not all of your
animation may not be exported as well.

Hello... I am using FCP 4.5 and trying to get a Flash animation to work. I have
tried importing it as a .swf file and as a Quicktime file... neither work.

When I play the clip in the Flashplayer or in the stand-alone Quicktime
player... it works fine... plays the whole movie. When I import it into FCP it
seems to only import/play the first frame.

The Flash file was created by a designer I am working with... (I think on a
PC) and I thought it would be fairly simple to bring it into FCP (or so the
manual led me to believe).

HELP!!! I have a horrid deadline looming.

Thanks

I work on PC so haven't used FCP but I use Flash with Premiere for titling (I'm
too lazy to learn After Effects). I use export movie within flash and this
gives you the option to export as avi, qicktime etc. Then I bring this movie
file into Premiere. If you have the fla file (and a copy of Flash) you can
export from within Flash. If not, can you ask the designer to give it to you in
a movie format using his original file?

Exporting to a movie format from within Flash works really well in my
experience.
